Last year, MTV with partners The Kaiser Foundation and Planned Parenthood launched the “GYT” campaign that targeted young people’s awareness for taking responsibility of their own sexual health. GYT was SMS-speak for “Get Yourself Tested” and the visual of the campaign adopted a guerrilla-style stenciled look to pique the curiosity of the viewer. They did a series of talent-driven spots to talk about the concept and we worked with the team on the MTV_GYT.
This year, we worked with the directors of the campaign- Crobin and Howard Grandison- on the on-air component to update the outreach. They wrote and directed great scripts for three different spots. One depicted a meathead from the future who warns his past-self about getting tested, one shows a young man in the doctor’s office who has his hero break into the room to remind him to get checked out, and the third has a young woman sending carrier pigeons to send a message to talk to a doctor and get information. Each one needed a few little visual effects tweaks, and the directors/editor helped make it a smooth process. It is a great campaign and a great cause.

A few weeks back, Cartoon Network aired their special “Lego Atlantis.” It was a great show, and in case you can download it or get the DVD, we wanted to post link to their Facebook page. CN and Lego have had a partnership for a couple years. I read in a press release:
In October 2008, Cartoon Network featured an exclusive BIONICLE® on-air video and an exclusive online game at CartoonNetwork.com to promote the toy line at the start of the holiday shopping season. LEGO Group has also premiered two exclusive mini movies ? LEGO Indiana Jones? and the Raiders of the Lost Brick and STAR WARS? Revenge of the Brick ? as commercial events on the network while also creating custom games on CartoonNetwork.com, all supported by on-air promos.
We worked with the Cartoon Network team and were happy to see that they had a great response.

iCarly Teaser - design/animation by Click 3X Entertainment from Connor Swegle on Vimeo.
It’s not easy, what we do. Sometimes we have to work in some pretty crazy places. Recently we had to shoot in our own nightmares. This time, when working with Nickelodeon on iCarly’s special iSpaceOut, we actually went to space with Laika the dog and three Soviet cosmonauts (grip, gaffer, and sound tech), to pull off a shoot. It was great. Craft service had tang and astronaut ice cream. PERKS!

Discovery Construction Intervention Promo - Live Action, Design, Edit, Animation by Click 3X from Connor Swegle on Vimeo.
Charlie Frattini has a loud mouth, killer work ethic, a wealth of construction experience and a heart of gold. All of them come together in Discovery’s new show “Construction Intervention” where Frattini works with independent business owners who have been victims of botched renovations and gets them back on track.
We worked with the Discovery Marketing team on the project, starting with a quirky Wes Anderson-inspired concept where all of the action of a renovation could come together in a dynamic one-shot. As time went on, however, the big idea didn’t fit in with the fact that what Charlie does makes a huge impact on the business owners, so the promo was tweaked to really feature Charlie in action.

We shot with Charlie and the Discovery team throughout Manhattan- the place where he leads many of his builds, and where he has worked on massive renovations. We were on the Brooklyn Bridge, down in Tribeca, up in Harlem and even over in Long Island City where we shot the final hero take. Charlie, even though it is his first show, is an ace talent, and takes his true skills and passions and brings them to the TV. We even hung out with Charlie and he is a great guy.
Everyone tune in.
